My name is James and I live in Los Angeles. I’m a white boy from Jackson, Mississippi, born in 1968 the day after Robert Kennedy was assassinated in LA. Weirdly enough, when I was single, I lived three miles from that hotel for a couple of years . My roomates were a Filipino musician and an African-American accountant. It was our own little U.N.
I have been a writer for most of my life and went to UCLA film school to focus on screenwriting. Consequently, I now teach Kindergarten at Jefferson Elementary School in Compton. Yeah, huge gap. I’m actually the only person in my class that doesn’t speak Spanish. YET.
Five years ago I married the lovely Isela Cavazos, and to the relief of the INS, I married for love, not documentation. She is my dream girl and love her more every day (good for a couple of points, mi dulce?)
Life has certainly been an adventure, but it’s taken me awhile to tap into it. You could say I have a great deal to write about, which is the whole point of this.
Enjoy.
